No Longer Appetizing

September 5th, 2010 by admin

My sister just called and asked if I can drive her to the nearest Gulf Coast Claims Facility office. She just spoke to her attorney and he said she will definitely be eligible under the claims process. Her business has been significantly impacted by the oil spill as she owns a seafood company. She has had very limited stock to sell and even that most people don’t want to touch. They don’t want to take the chance of getting bad food. I can’t say I blame them because I don’t want to eat seafood either right now. It just does not sound appetizing.

I Do My Best

September 1st, 2010 by admin

After I got back to the office the other day, I noticed that there was a note on my desk from my boss, and he wanted me to come and see him.  When I went in to his office, he told me that he had been speaking with one of my clients about a whiplash accident claim, and he was very impressed with how I handled the situation.  He noticed that I had taken all of the details of the crash into account before giving the client an estimate on what sort of compensation he would get.  I explained that I was doing my best.

Linda was hurt during work. She was thinking of hiring an attorney, but she was not sure how to go about it. Linda talked with family members, and they did not have any recommendations. Her father told her to give his attorney a call because he might be able to recommend a Personal Injury attorney. Linda called her father’s attorney’s office and talked with him. He was very nice, and he gave Linda a couple of recommendations. She was able to set up an appointment right away and got the help she needed. She was glad that her attorney was able to settle it out of court.

10 Tips for Winning a Divorce

August 31st, 2010 by admin

10 tips for winning a divorce Marriage counseling - Try marriage counseling again. Spouses had a reason for walking down the aisle together. Give marriage counseling one last chance before starting down the path to divorce. Talk to a divorce attorney first - It is very important that you talk to a divorce attorney before doing anything else. Your divorce lawyer will help you to assess the divorce and should thoroughly educate you in the area of Divorce law. It is important to have this knowledge before moving on with your case because divorce cases can often involve complex property issues, children, child support, etc. Talk to your spouse - Obviously, once you have an idea of what is going to happen in your divorce, you are better able to talk with your spouse and try to work things out. We can only equate someone talking with their spouse about a divorce without knowing what the laws are and without knowing what generally will happen in their case to someone buying a car who has absolutely no idea what the car is really worth. In either case, you are in no position to negotiate a deal. Hire a divorce attorney you are comfortable with - It is extremely important that you hire an attorney with whom you are comfortable. Ask your divorce attorney about fees - not only how much he/she charges per hour but how much, generally, you should expect to spend with the attorney. Can you contact the attorney after hours? Will the divorce attorney pledge to return your calls the same day? Does the attorney give out his home number and/or mobile number? The first attorney you contact should not be offended if you contact a second or third attorney in order to investigate that “comfort level”. Look around to the extent you deem it necessary. Explore Mediation with your Attorney - Mediation is a process whereby parties use a neutral person to try to reach an agreement. It has a very high success rate and allows spouses to dictate their own agreement without having a Judge reach an agreement with which neither party may be satisfied. Discuss mediation with your San Antonio mediation attorney. Involve a CPA - Tax consequences of your divorce can be devastating or beneficial. Ask your lawyer if they can recommend a CPA or contact a CPA of your choice to ask about the tax consequences of any property division. (This can save you a tremendous amount of money!) Children? Help them cope with Divorce - Take the course “Helping Children Cope with Divorce”. This course is required in Bexar County prior to the granting of a divorce and is available around San Antonio and Texas. It helps parents understand how little comments or actions on their part can have a devastating effect on their children. It has a very high approval rating from parents taking it and I would strongly urge that you consider it. (It takes a total of about 4 hours and is inexpensive.) Insist that your attorney pre-approve your “QDRO” - A QDRO (a Qualified Domestic Relations Order) is required to divide retirement. By insisting that your San Antonio divorce attorney submit the QDRO to the retirement plan administrator prior to the entry of the decree, you are potentially assuring that the QDRO will not have to be revised after the divorce is over. Obtain a Deed of Trust - If needed, be sure to obtain a “Deed of Trust”! This simple document gives you a right to foreclose on the real estate should your spouse fail to continue making payments, avoiding costly litigation. Be smart - be rational - Going through a divorce is kind of like going through a temporary state of insanity. It is only a matter of degree.

I am very interested in the BP Claims Process due to the fact that I lost huge amounts of revenue as a result of that, and it is my understanding that the BP company has now stated that there is a big fund established to pay people back who are victims like me. They say on their site that they take total responsibility and will make financial amends, so I am glad of that.

My High School Friend Mentioned BP Lawsuits

August 6th, 2010 by admin

I could not believe what I was seeing when I ran into Angie at the grocery store today. This is the first time I have seen her since high school, although we do keep in touch occasionally on the social networking websites. Angie said that the oil spill caused her family to lose their primary source of income since her husband was a shrimper and she is a stay at home mom for their three kids. Angie mentioned the BP Lawsuits which she and her husband will be filing after they find a lawyer. I told her she should check the web for a good attorney, maybe.

Do You Need a Lawyer?

July 30th, 2010 by admin

Were you affected by the BP oil spill? If so then you may want to get a Oil Spill Lawyer. A lawyer can help you understand the full extend of your losses, and help you to decide if you should file a claim or a lawsuit. If you think you can do this on your own then there is no reason to get a lawyer. A lawyer can even advise you of any class action law suits that you may be able to get into. Sometimes you can get more compensation from filing like this. I would suggest if your not sure on how to proceed, get a lawyer.
