More Greenhouse Gas Myths

January 24th, 2010 by admin

We try to stay current on all matters of climate change around here, and who’s saying and doing what about it.  I just saw today a new article of Science magazine, which just came out today, which claims that there will likely be a significant increase in strong Hurricans in the Atlantic basin in the near future. This will be the result, it says,  of the climate changes that will come from the emission of manmade greenhouse gases.  But is this yet another example of the greenhouse gas myth?  If you take a closer look at the study’s findings, this claim, based on a model, is the result of a hurricane model.  It apparently under-simulates the frequency of the more intense storms today. So despite the projected elevation in stronger hurricanes, the number and frequency of them as predicted to occur by the end of this century, is far less than the number of bad hurricanes actually seen today in the our climate. More manipulation of already bad data, if you ask me!
