Goldfish Reading for Children

February 21st, 2010 by admin

If your child is interested in keeping a goldfish or two as pets, there are many books with excellent goldfish information or just a good goldfish tale. Your child may be inspired by these stories to take even better care of their new favorite pet. Instructional books appropriate for young children include: What’s it Like to Be a Fish? by Wendy Pfeffer and Holly Keller; Goldfish by JoAnn Early Macken. Then, there are a few children’s books that are just for fun, like: Not Norman by Kelly Bennett and Noah Jones; The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean; Sparky the Wonderfish: A Story of How Love Creates Magic by Gillian Lee Hutshing; Goldfish Don’t Take Bubblebaths by Trina Wiebe; Goldfish and Chrysanthemums by Andrea Chang; and DogFish by Gillian Shields. Older children will enjoy more practical books that can teach them how to care for their fish without mom and dad’s help. Recommended books include: Aquarium Care of Goldfish by David Boruchowitz; and Goldfish (Complete Pet Owner’s Manual) by Marshall Ostrow.
